New York State Office of the Professions
Since 1891, the Board of Regents and the New York State Education Department have overseen the preparation, licensure, and practice of the professions. Currently, the Office of the Professions regulates forty-eight professions defined in Title VIII of the Education Law.

The North American Board of Energy Practitioners
The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is a volunteer board of renewable energy stakeholder representatives that includes representatives of the solar industry, NABCEP certificants, renewable energy organizations, state policy makers, educational institutions, and the trades. NABCEP offers certifications and certificate programs to renewable energy professionals throughout North America.

The Building Performance Institute, Inc. The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) provides third-party project certification and professional credentials recognizing excellence in green building performance and practice. NYSERDA is supporting the development of a statewide network of training programs for those interested in an energy career.
